We had this crazy thunder strom blow through a couple of weeks ago and it poured rain for 45 mintues and filled the swell in the front of our house. Later that evening my girls were playing in the front yard and just couldn't resist the temptaion to run through the water. I decided it wasn't worth the fight, considering they had already spilt bubbles and stomped through them. So my question is since they stomped in the bubbles and then ran through the water does that constitute a bath? My conclusion was yes, so I brought them in put pj's on and put them to bed! :)Sunday, July 12, 2009
Pretending It's Summer

My Favorite Baby Invention
The "Bumbo" is my favorite invention ever...a friend of mine gave it to me as a hand me down (hence the purple) and I had never even heard of them, but I have fallen in love. It is easy to move and fits perfectly on the counter where he can see me. Garrett loves it!
Addy and Hannah were playing babies one day and decided they would take Garrett for a ride in their baby stroller. It lasted all of about 3 minutes...
....he then decided he had had enought torturing for the hour. He is such a good sport and puts up with a lot with too very "helpful" big sisters.

My cousins little boy asked for a pink princess dress with matching shoes for his 3rd birthday. He also has two older sisters...I think we might be heading down the same path, what do you think?
Curls for Church Day
Hannah is always begging me to curl her hair, so one Saturday night I was actually on top of things and got them in the bath early enough to put sponge curlers in their hair before bed. It turned out super cute...for some reason we never got an after picture (probably because we have 9:00 church and a dad at meetings up until church starts).

Dinner Time
Garrett has always been interested in food and if you don't believe me his weight can prove it (17 lbs 9 oz @ 4 month appointment). He watches every bite you put into your mouth. 
Addy better watch out as of now there is only about 4 or 5 lbs separating her and Garrett.

Great-Grandpa Virgil

Hogle Zoo
For Memorial day we met Cory's parents and sisters in Salt Lake for a quick visit. We had the chance to visit some grave sites and then go to the zoo. It was fun to see everyone and visit with grandpa Virgil (Cory's grandfather).
Mimi, bought the girls tickets to ride on the merry-go-round...I think they may have enjoyed that more than seeing the animals.

Visiting Hayden
In May Garrett and I got to go on a quick trip to Arizona to visit my brother and sister in-law and meet their new baby Hayden Kale. It was nice to get a way and have little break, remembering what it was like to only have one child. Garrett and Hayden are about 2 1/2 months apart and will hopefully be great friends one day. Hayden is our first cousin so we are pretty excited to have him.
This was the funniest picture of them...it was like Garrett was trying to give Hayden a kiss and all Hayden wanted to do was suck on Garrett's head.
Garrett was very intrigued by this other little person, it is so fun when they start to notice when others are their same size.

Baby Animal Day
Around easter time the Idaho State Fair grounds have baby animal day where the kids get to go and see some baby farm animals. We went with some friends of ours and had so much fun...the girls loved holding the baby chicks, ducks, rabbits, and petting the cows, pigs, etc. They even got to touch a big snake! 
Funny Story: When we first got to the tent where all the animals were I was trying to get the stroller situated and the camera read, but the girls being impatient children hurried in and started petting the animals. After a minute Addy came running over and said "Mommy, I kiss the Oink, Oink." She was so pround of herself and the only thought going through my mind was 'Swine Flu??' I was sad I didn't get a picture of her with the pigs though.

The girls also enjoyed playing the pool filled with corn and trying to milk a pretend cow.
The culminating event was the wagon ride at on the way out. The kids thought that it was fabulous to ride in a wagon that was pulled by horses.
